This workshop identifies likely subjects for a family history interview and engages participants in questioning and other strategies necessary for gathering stories during the interview.

Workshop participants show and talk about an artifact related to their family history. Sharing shows how “things” can contribute to our life story. Talking about the artifacts also generates ideas for other types of stories to include in a family history project.

An obituary can be a rich family history artifact. Too many obituaries do not reflect the personality, values, and lived experience of the deceased person. This course uses a 5-step process to help participants write a uniquely personal obituary guaranteed to interest, inform, and inspire future generations.
Delivered via email @ $10.00.
Course focuses on life experiences of individual writing the autobiography.
· 8-week course: Participants write two pages per week on an assigned life story topic. Delivered via email @ $39.99
· Self-paced expanded version: Participants use an A-Z format resulting in 26 life story essays. Delivered via email @ $129.99.
Courses end with a tangible document that becomes a part of one’s family history.
Lectures are delivered in-person at venues such as museums, libraries, heritage or history centers, etc.
