Family history is often confused with genealogy but the two are not the same. Genealogists focus on family tree charts. Family historians focus on gathering stories about the people listed on those charts. Family history is stories!
Our goal at The Family History Place is to build your confidence and competence as you discover, gather, and preserve family stories. We provide individualized help via courses and workshops. We also offer family history lectures in public spaces. Our courses, workshops, lectures, books, and quarterly newsletters provide a smorgasbord of resources family historians can use to start and sustain a family history project.
